Fire Protection Engineer works in the Fire Protection Division of EPM which provides a full spectrum of services in support of industrial and commercial fire protection engineering programs. Services include fire protection and code consulting services for buildings of virtually all types and uses, including but not limited to, high rise, primary, secondary and higher education facilities, assembly (arenas, stadiums, theaters), warehouses, laboratories, computer rooms/data centers, retail, hospitality, corporate real estate, health care, manufacturing, and residential.
Technical Duties Required:
- Fire safety systems design and construction administration. Including sprinkler system, fire detection and alarm system, smoke control system and special hazard suppression systems
- Building Fire Safety Due Diligence Survey.
- Fire protection system 3D computer-based hydraulic modeling and drafting and calculation
- Design fire safety plans
- Dust and flammable gas explosion hazard analysis and computer-based dispersion and blast wave analysis
- NFPA and ICC codes consulting
- Fire modeling
- Evacuation analysis
Administrative/Marketing Duties:
- Assist in writing proposals; provide input or research for proposals
- Have a general understanding of company services and products and market them when appropriate
- Work independently and as a team player to support team and division goals
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- May delegate basic tasks to interns

This position may be based in any of EPM’s offices (Framingham, Raleigh), remote locations will also be considered.
Education:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering with 7-9 years’ experience; or
- Masters of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering with 5 years’ experience
Requirements:
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
