Thomas Jutras, P.E.

Vice President, Fire Protection and Risk Services

Mr. Jutras, the Vice President of EPM’s Fire Protection Engineering and Risk Services divisions, has been with EPM since 1992 and has over 30 years of experience in the nuclear power industry and in fire protection engineering for nuclear power and non-nuclear sectors in the US and internationally. He has served as a project manager for many risk-informed, performance-based (NFPA 805) as well as deterministic fire protection projects for the nuclear power industry. He is a member of NEI’s Fire Protection and Fire PRA Task Forces. He is familiar with all aspects of Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) and risk-informed initiatives and is experienced in computer-based fire and explosion modeling. He has expertise in fire protection system design and analysis for a wide variety of clients and building types. Mr. Jutras has a sound understanding of fire protection regulations, codes, and standards, and he has developed multiple successful performance-based design solutions to support variances from prescriptive building and fire code requirements. Mr. Jutras holds a master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, is a registered Professional Fire Protection Engineer in over 20 states. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and a principal member of the NFPA 14 Committee on Standpipes, served as a Director of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE – New England Chapter) and served as a President of the New England Association of Fire Protection System Designers.
